Product Insights
The global agricultural drones market is expected to gain great heights in the coming years with the agriculture industry witnessing a shift from conventional to mechanized farming methods. Improvements and gains in technology and resulting shift towards automated solutions is making traditional farm equipment towards obsolescence, thereby creating demand for state-of-the-art automated solutions. The rapid progressions in technology have led to the development of agricultural Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) with superior imaging capabilities and features. The agricultural drone manufacturers over the globe are focusing on developing drones with technologies including GPS, GIS (Geographic Information System), and autopilot system to aid farmers in applications including crop scouting, field mapping, etc. The competences of drones to accurately sprinkle fertilizers without disturbing soil fertility is supposed to boost their adoption for crop scouting applications in the coming years. On the contrary, lack of technical know-how and limited availability of skilled labors for the operation of state-of-the-art drones is known as the major factor inhibiting widespread adoption of drones. Moreover, having drones as a legal entity and acquiring privacy rights is another major concern for the market.
High upfront cost of drones coupled with the technical complexities included in its installation and operation is known as the major factor inhibiting the widespread adoption of agricultural drones, especially amongst farmers in price-sensitive rising economies. High cost involved makes it difficult for small-scale farmers to invest in these systems and gain reasonable profits.

May 20, 2019

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A New Mexico Little League park is fighting a battle against discarded syringes with attached hypodermic needles amid the region's outgoing opioid epidemic. Atrisco Park, home of the Atrisco Valley Little League, in Albuquerque is racing to clean up syringes littering fields and the grounds to protect the children who play on them, the Albuquerque Journal reports. Atrisco Valley Little League president Hector Aguilar said earlier this month an 11-year-old girl was practicing base sliding when a hypodermic needle pierced her foot. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — The Latest on Missouri's proposed ban on abortions at eight weeks of pregnancy (all times local): 6:20 p.m. The Missouri Section of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists says it strongly opposes the threat of criminal penalties for delivering "evidence based, necessary health care." The doctors said in a statement that the legislation would force them to decide between their patients'...

Poet laureate writes tribute for Statue of Liberty Museum

May 20, 2019

NEW YORK — At a time when families have been separated at the Mexican border and children placed in cages, the country's poet laureate is invoking an old and welcoming spirit for those seeking to live in the United States. Tracy K. Smith's "Harbor," commissioned for this week's opening of the Statue of Liberty Museum, is a ghazal-form poem (a series of autonomous couplets) partly modeled on Emma Lazarus' "The New Colossus" and its immortal beckoning to "your huddled masses yearning to breathe free." In "Harbor," Smith invites the arriving "Stranger" to "Be my guest. Drink tea, taste fruit and...

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri's Republican-led Legislature on Friday approved a sweeping bill to ban abortions at eight weeks of pregnancy, joining Alabama and other states that have moved to severely restrict the procedure. Republican Gov. Mike Parson is expected to sign the bill. The ban would be among the most restrictive in the U.S. It would include exceptions for medical emergencies, but not for pregnancies caused by rape or incest. Doctors would face five to 15 years in prison for violating the eight-week cutoff. Women who receive abortions wouldn't be prosecuted. "Until the day that we no longer have...
