Prime NYC Glass Works provides complete solutions for businesses interested in installing, replacing or maintaining their storefronts.

The company has extensive experience with a wide range of designs, working exclusively with licensed and certified technicians to ensure high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Sanders holds 1st press briefing since Feb. 28, but for kids

Apr 26, 2019

WASHINGTON — White House press secretary Sarah Sanders held her first briefing in more than a month Thursday, but her questioners weren't working journalists. Instead, Sanders made herself available for what the White House said was a "kids-only" press briefing for children participating in "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day." Journalists who cover President Donald Trump and the White House on a daily basis have been waiting for a similar opportunity since Feb. 28, the last time Sanders held a briefing. The White House announced that the briefing would be off the record and not for broadcast, meaning...

Storm indefinitely delays opening of 50th Jazz Fest

Apr 26, 2019

NEW ORLEANS — A storm moving through the area has indefinitely delayed the opening day of the 50th New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. The National Weather Service said there was an 80% chance of rain Thursday and some storms might be severe. As the sky darkened ominously, about a dozen people huddled under umbrellas outside the festival's main pedestrian entrance before the delay was announced. Streets around the venue were hubcap deep in water. More than 70 acts including Earth, Wind and Fire and Alanis Morissette are scheduled Thursday, along with scores of food and arts and crafts vendors....

US long-term mortgage rates up for 4th week; 30-year 4.20%

Apr 26, 2019

WASHINGTON — U.S. long-term mortgage rates rose this week for the fourth straight week, though they remain historically low as a spur to home sales in the spring buying season. Mortgage buyer Freddie Mac said Thursday the average rate on the 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage increased to 4.20% from 4.17% last week. By contrast, a year ago the benchmark rate stood at 4.58%. The average rate for 15-year, fixed-rate home loans rose this week to 3.64% from 3.62% last week. After peaking at nearly 5% in November, long-term rates started trending downward, helping to boost home sales after a rocky 2018....

It's not just record-high stocks feeling the Fed effect

Apr 26, 2019

NEW YORK — It's not just the stock market at a record high that's feeling the Fed effect. Jewelry shoppers, home buyers, retirees and many others are feeling the ramifications of the Federal Reserve's decision earlier this year to halt raising interest rates, at least temporarily. For some investments, it's been for the better. For others, not so much. It all started on Jan. 4, when Fed Chairman Jerome Powell took the stage at an Atlanta conference for economists and said the Fed would be "patient" in raising rates. Two weeks earlier, the stock market had dropped to nearly 20%...
